Re: Pressure Checks 2000 Excursion
Vent temp is about 60. The pressures don’t seem to change much at a faster rpm. I forgot to write the ones at at 1500 rpm down. The truck is getting a new turbo this weekend and when it’s running again I’ll check the pressures at 1500 rpm and report back. Thanks for the help. I just want as much pe...

Depends on the refrigerant level.hbabler wrote:Thanks,
Wouldn’t a bad fan clutch give me high pressure side readings?

Re: Pressure Checks 2000 Excursion
Weak fan clutch can fail to cool condenser properly but still not overheat. Do a search for fan clutch testing.hbabler wrote:It’s a belt driven fan.
I haven’t ever had issues with the truck overheating. But it’s possible the clutch is weak?

Re: New Ac compressor not working
Get a circuit diagram and since you state that the compressor is NOT getting positive voltage, work your way backward to find out where the circuit is not "hot". If you jump positive voltage to the compressor, does the AC clutch pull in/engage? I ALWAYS check a new AC compressor in that wa...

Re: Pressure Checks 2000 Excursion
Belt driven fan with fan clutch or all-electric fans to cool the condenser??? Assume dual AC, so was that front evaporator replaced?

Remember that service valve caps must be intact to seal a system - check those !!!

Re: Slow Leak
I put a compressor on a 92 Ford van about 4 years ago. It’s came back twice out of refrigerant. The van is only driven about once a month. The only dye I see is a light dusting around the clutch and drive plate. It held vacuum at 310 microns for a couple hours this morning. I’m going to pressure te...

Re: Pressures Equalize Instantly
You have a leak. It is undercharged, just a few days after service. I believe its supposed to blow cold air at those pressures. While AC is on with engine idle i have around 30 psi low side and 150 psi high side Should really measure such pressures at bout 2000 rpm. At 2000 rpm at 100F, I would exp...

Take it back to the shop, it's covered by their warranty.bohica2xo wrote:You have a leak. It is undercharged, just a few days after service.

Re: Running R12 In A R134 System
With the equipment I already have at my home, I could technically fill an R134a system with R-12, and vice-versa. Without changing/converting either of the service valves.philipswanson wrote:Not illegal. But can it be done mechanically? That's the question.
