Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help
OK, guys, I'm starting from scratch again tomorrow. I'm going to flush everything, replace the txv and filter bag, vacuum with fresh vacuum pump oil, use a brand new bottle of pag and see what I get. I have a couple of questions. Is there a drain plug on the Denso compressor? And how do I ensure I g...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help
Now you have had 3 comps in there. The third one seized. What was the issue with the first two. I'm actually on the 4th compressor. The first two failures were both clutch related. When I was replacing the clutch on the original Honda compressor, I snapped the shaft at the threads replacing the nut...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help
Given the temp gun readings you gave I have to wonder about airflow across the condenser. Initially that's what I was thinking, and I even had 2 high velocity fans at point blank range on both ends of the condenser in my garage, but when things didn't drastically improve at 50mph, I ruled out airfl...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help
Thanks for responding. All great questions. What are you using for vac pump, 28 is not as deep as we might like. The deeper the vac the better it works.... Electric motor vac with freshly changed oil, or the dreaded HF compressed air venturi "pumps" It's an electric one, i think two stage ...

2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help
I owned this car since new and just recently gave it to my daughter. While i owned it, i changed 2 compressors and a condenser over 250k miles in the Phoenix heat. A few weeks ago it started cycling every few seconds. Gauges were reading 40/400 when it would kick off. I pulled a vacuum and weighed i...
