Re: Fan Speed?
Have feeling my one canister of 12a refridgerant wasn't quite enough to hold near the top of the blue good range on my cheap guage. If you're in the United States, why not just use R-134a, which is what your car was originally designed for? Although R-12a reportedly is compatible with the former, i...

Re: 98 Buick Park Ave AC troubles - Hi side won't build
I think you inadvertently over-filled the system with oil if the Denso compressor and the junkyard compressor came with all 9 ounces in them. It's very difficult to correct that now, though, because everything you do would be guesswork. How much oil do you remove? Who knows? I responded to another q...

Re: Gs300 new ac components but immediately shuts off
For some reason I thought the AC compressor came with only enough oil for the unit itself but that would make sense if it has 7oz like you stated. That might be where you went wrong. Some compressors come filled with enough oil for the entire system, and some come dry. What would be the best approa...

Re: Getting power to the relay but nothing to the compressor
ok yeah, I thought about that as well, but when jumping it there is no problem to jump the power. I even tried taking the fuse block off to get to the wiring connectors but it was getting a little tricky so I stopped. However, as I said, the terminals jump no problem. Who said that troubleshooting ...

Re: Getting power to the relay but nothing to the compressor
When I jump the relay the compressor kicks on so the wiring should be fine between the relay and clutch. But I checked anyway for continuity on the wire between the relay terminal that feeds the compressor clutch and it read 1.4 ohms. Then something has to be amiss in the area of the relay...maybe ...

Re: 98 Buick Park Ave AC troubles - Hi side won't build
Bringing an end to this thread... The problem is solved. I didn't understand the VD compressor concept previously, and upon following your recommendations, everything seems to be working upon my most recent recharge. I also did not realize the length of time this process takes. In all, it probably ...

Re: Gs300 new ac components but immediately shuts off
A blinking A/C-switch light on a Toyota product means that a difference in RPM exists between the engine and compressor. The blinking light further indicates that the compressor's drive belt is slipping and that it is momentarily seizing or has completely seized. The question is, why? From your desc...

Re: Getting power to the relay but nothing to the compressor
Okay...we've got the system charged to specs. It could also be the wiring from the relay to the clutch, the diode that prevents stray voltage induced from the clutch coil from traveling back to sensitive electronics, or the PCM itself. Try the easy test first. Put a VOM's test leads across the wire ...

Re: 2010 honda civic ac not blowing cold
I agree with Tim. In addition, whenever I see a question like yours, my response is to first and foremost, install the correct amount of refrigerant into the system that the manufacturer's specifications call for. The process involves recovering the refrigerant that's in the system now (or having a ...

I'm not surprised that you haven't received any replies to your latest posts. You seem to want to get deeply involved in refrigeration science and system-design, and that's fine. But I would hazard a guess that more than 99-percent of this Forum's members simply don't have the background for such a ...
