Re: Ford Ranger Compressor Cutting Out
I agree with the previous comments. The extreme pressures you're seeing point to an overcharge primarily. Secondarily, a lack of airflow across the condenser and/or air and moisture in the system could also contribute to the sky-high pressure readings. Remember that pressures don't tell you how much...

Re: How does this pressure sensor behave?
It appears to be a trinary switch that switches the magnetic clutch on and off at certain low-pressure and high-pressure thresholds to prevent compressor oil starvation on the low end and over-pressurization on the high end. In a similar manner, it also switches the condenser fan(s) on and off accor...

Re: Have some problems with Lexus RX350's compressor
To my knowledge, Floron R-134a isn't available in the USA, but it seems to have a good reputation for purity in India, where it's produced. I'm guessing that it's okay to use as long as it doesn't contain any sealer or other questionable additives. As you might know, sealer, in particular, is very b...

Re: Have some problems with Lexus RX350's compressor
Is the vehicle located in India? Is that why your customer is using Floron-branded R-134a?

Re: Have some problems with Lexus RX350's compressor
A few questions: When you say the pressures are okay, what pressures are you seeing on your Manifold Gauge Set under what conditions? Are you sure that you have re-charged it to the correct weight-of-charge called for by the manufacturer's specs? How much oil do you have in it? What is the year of y...

Re: 1991 Mustang GT w/ R12 - need help
Depending on how much refrigerant is still in the system, the compressor might or might not run after starting the engine. Nevertheless, running the engine for several minutes will warm-up whatever refrigerant remains, which will raise the system pressure somewhat and help with leak-checking.

No need to remove the clutch. Place a plastic bag around the clutch and compressor case, secure it with a large rubber band, then probe inside the bag with your TIFF a couple hours later or the next day.

Re: CLUTCHED compressor shear pin?
My guess—and this is merely a guess—about how much oil is in the system now: Two fluid ounces in each evaporator, 2 fluid ounces in the condenser, 1.5 fluid ounces in the R/D, and 1.5 fluid ounces in the lines and hoses (taking into account that the lines for a front-and-rear A/C system are consider...

Re: Low side retard / high side zero & compressor not kicking on
I'm trying to fix my brother's ac in his 98 Silverado and the ac compressor is not kicking on. I put gauges on it and the low side is pegged on the gauge reading retard and the highside is reading zero. Your red and blue hoses might be switched at the Manifold Gauge Set as already suggested. Double...

By major work, do you mean bodywork? If so, was it hit in the front?
