A compressor manufacturer can make a compressor rotate either direction. A specific part number for the backside drive in that VW is very likely.

Re: 1963 Jeep A/C
R152a is not an automotive refrigerant. There is no real data regarding it's use in MVAC. You don't mention what type & how much oil you have in the system. The evaporator and TXV are R12 items, and using something with a different P/T curve will give different results. Was the system evacuated ...

Some Sanden compressors are CW only, so check the Sanden site to be sure. Page 8 here: http://www.sanden.com/productlibrary/ma ... _Rev_2.pdf

Re: a/c slow to cool
It is difficult to get cooling with zero differential pressure. You mentioned the gauge set before, thinking it may be unreliable. If you can borrow one from the local chain auto parts store you can reduce that variable. But there is also the possibility that your service valve connectors are not de...

Re: strange cooling
You would appear to have the OEM tube, but with china churning out parts who really knows. Here is an old post covering the sizes: https://www.autoacforum.com/messageview.cfm?catid=20&threadid=10818 I would avoid any "self adjusting" tubes, we have never seen any gains from them. I hav...

Re: Working on fire engine AC (again)
500 cc's of oil is 16.9 Ounces. That is a lot of oil, even for a TM31. Sounds more like a system charge. I know the service manual says 500 cc's, but it also describes 220 cc's in the balance of the system. So if someone before you replaced a compressor & dumped in 500 cc's You might have had as...

Re: a/c slow to cool
If you have a gauge set and the high side is the same as the low side, one of two things are true. 1) You have both handwheels open. This is not how you use a manifold set. The handwheels must be closed. 2) Your compressor is not pumping. This could be either a compressor that is not spinning, or an...

Re: '94 Saturn A/C, need opinions
Time after time we tell people that have to charge by weight, that pressures are for diagnostic work. I never asked you how the system was charged. (now) Obviously it was way over factory charge, but we were diagnosing the system based on a proper charge. Glad you got things worked out. As for the o...

What does the high side look like under full load - 2000+ engine RPM doors open cabin fans on high?

Looks like you have it covered.
Ask Tim about the BVA in that compressor, I don't see why not but I don't know the specifics of that aftermarket supplier.
