Re: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee...
To me, your story sounds like a refrigerant leak from Day One. Your parts might have been replaced when not faulty. A dirty evaporator (leaves) can be cleaned without dismantling or replacing it. Good-working AC which gets worse over time typically means refrigerant is lost; a shop can evacuate and ...

Agree; test the gauge with the valves to the vehicle blocked or shut off, and pull a vacuum then.Dougflas wrote:24 on vacuum is not enough depending upon where you are located. what is your elevation? Better recheck your equipment.

Re: shelf life opened DEC pag 100
My opinion as a degreed chemist? If the bottle was sealed, then the only moisture that the oil can absorb is the humidity from the headspace of the container, not like it would continue to absorb water as if it had been left over. How about the oil itself? Well, the refrigeration oil in my 1998 Fron...

Re: Trouble in paradise. Thanks in advance!
I attached the R134a to my manifold gauges, purged the air out of the yellow line, closed the can and started the car with the A/C on. Hmmm - here's what I do (wear safety glasses): After evacuation step and checking to ensure that vacuum holds, I attach the refrigerant can to my manifold gauges, p...

Added 4 12oz cans r134, pressures are 20 low, and 170 high, ambient temp 75, It seems to cool OK, I can see bubbles in sight glass. Does someone know how much refrigerant this system holds? I think the upper one was colder, but not a lot. The motor home is at a storage lot, so I can't just run out ...

What type of vehicle? I'm not a pro, but haven't even heard of a desiccant bag replacement. If new drier is a available, I'd go that route.

Good question bohica, as a 1995 would've been factory R134a, I didn't catch that.

Re: Best Compressor For R12 In Diesel Pusher
Most 507s are set up for R134. Will one of these work if I just swap out the oil or are there other differences? The replacement Sanden in my 1988 Mazda truck came with PAG oil in it, I needed R-12 mineral type oil. So I drained out the PAG oil, added about 4 oz. R-12 mineral type oil, turned the c...
