Re: 1998 Frontier

Excellent, would love to know your hi and lo now after the 134 infusion. Well my 1998 Frontier does not have a tachometer, so I had to guess what was about 2000 rpm to add R134a and take pressures. So low side was about 30-35psi and high side was about 180psi. Have to wonder what that allen hex is ...

R134a refrigerant amounts being critical

I have a question after reading several times that R134a refrigerant amount is more critical than such had been in the R-12 days. Is it that modern AC receiver-driers have smaller capacity to save manufacturers when adding R134a, and that's why the R134a amount is so critical? It seems that as long ...

1998 Frontier

In 2017 I had a pinhole leak in the high pressure line of my 1998 Frontier; factory hoses were discontinued and aftermarket hose had different depth at one fitting; so I was able to cut to a shorter depth and make it work. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1663698.jpg A month ago, I last trave...

Re: 86 S10 LS Swap - A/C info needed

I had a 1988 GMC Suburban and still have a 1988 Mazda B2200 truck, both R-12. Each had a small 3/16" fitting for the high side port, to prevent folks from mixing up high and low. Of course GM and Toyota used one type and Ford and Mazda have the other type. I still have both such R-12 high side ...

"Don't mess with success"

By the way, the official manual for the 1999 Nissan Pathfinder can be downloaded; I did such for my 1998 and 2004 Frontiers.

Re: 1993 Jeep Cherokee A/C Performance Issues

Here is a list of reasons for a high side to be too high, from one of the masters (Ice-n-tropics): Non condensables (air) inside refrigerant circuit Blocked circuit inside evaporator coil Evaporator fins loose from tube contact or corroded away Evaporator coil with internal by-pass due to faulty ma...

And pictured unit contains leak stop junk.
