Re: over charged, undercharged I dont know.
However in my notes when I first did the 1988, I seems that I wrote down that I used 2.5 cans. That would be over charging but it sure did cool well if that was correct. I am not wanting to try that now as the pressures on the high side get crazy high. 2.5 cans is too much !!! Maybe I should just e...

Re: over charged, undercharged I dont know.
I can't see why a new compressor could be a source of higher temperatures or too-high pressures. At this point I think I'd recover refrigerant, pull good vacuum, and add refrigerant by weight, to make sure that you're not overcharged. What year are your B2200s? It seems that these can have differing...

Re: over charged, undercharged I dont know.
Did you backflush the condenser with solvent to flush out any particles? And use a new drier?

Re: 2004 Frontier AC stopped working today
It is all import parts anyway, and the 2004 Nissan was the end of the V belt compressor. So by now any new compressor is an import from a 3rd party supplier - and WHO you buy it from is more important than where it was made. If you buy from a reputable supplier that will be there tomorrow, they are...

Re: 2004 Frontier AC stopped working today
The good news: the AC idler pulley is fine, the AC clutch is fine, the Gates AC belt is fine. The bad news is that the compressor is locked up tighter than a drum. This Frontier uses a DKV14C Compressor; and since the condenser is parallel path type, that will need to be replaced too, as any particl...

2004 Frontier AC stopped working today
The 2004 Frontier AC stopped working today while driving on the freeway, first symptom was a bad squeal which disappeared when I shut off the AC button. But the belt doesn't feel loose, and no sound when AC is "off", so not sure it's the idler either. Because the AC wasn't cooling after th...

Re: Charging AC/All new components
Maybe 2 years ago I replaced the compressor in our 2005 Yukon with 6.0 liter (did not have an A6) and that went smoothly; that's my only experience with a GM in recent years. I added oil containing UV dye, pulled good vacuum, checked for leakdown, purged service gauge lines, let refrigerant enter th...

Re: Charging AC/All new components
Also, what are you accomplishing when you break in the compressor by turning the input shaft several revolutions before you install it ? Rotating the compressor center distributes the oil somewhat, gets it out of the compressor (important)- which cannot compress liquids, just gases. So add the full...

Re: Peanut not sitting flush
Thanks. This is only when I tighten the nut. It sits flush by hand. Single oring in the groove http://anscv.com/images/Truck/2000/AC/IMG_20180909_154905.jpg Hmmm- your O-ring channel is shallower than the one pictured on my Frontier in my earlier post. The Frontier O-ring stays in its channel and s...
