Re: AC blowing hot Air when parked outside on hot days

quote] Parked in the sun, or under cover???? Makes a huge difference. I'm in Arizona, and on a 110F day (common) the dashboard, seats, interior, etc. will be - wait for it - 100F !!! If one parks in the sun, that stuff could be 140F or more. The AC system has to "exchange" that heat, so if...

Re: Recovered Refrigerant - Usable? Disposal Process?

I have a few questions regarding refrigerant after it’s been added to a recovery cylinder. Question 1: Is it immediately reusable? – Let’s say I have a Honda CR-V with a bad compressor clutch. The compressor itself is probably still okay, but I “might as well” myself into replacing it with an upgra...

Re: 1234yf operating pressures

Having trouble getting someone to come out and fix my Home ac as well. 99.8 this morning in my office. I had a company put refrigerant n it. Leaked. Then said the coil was bad. 8-week lead time. New system entirely, back-ordered. I calling BS. They don't want to go up in the attic where my coil is ...

Re: Behaving intermittently

3. My first thought is to use a garden hose and mist the condenser (keep misting it) and check your vent temps and skinny/fat line temps and report back I also agree with above. Seems like an issue of improper condensing, likely due to bad electric fan(s) or bad fan clutch or debris covering conden...

Re: 1234yf operating pressures

At ambient temperatures above 100°F (like it was in Phoenix recently) That was wintertime. 110 plus has been our norm lately. Currently, my AC is out in my home/office. :( Heat is no laughing matter; Phoenix hit 119F several times so far this summer, and folks and animals have died from the heat.

Re: 1234yf operating pressures

He said he had a 1234yf recovery machine, so I assume he can add specified amount of 1234yf automatically.

Re: Can I drive on the highway without a condenser fan?

I assume that the part you wish to drive 2K miles for is NOT for the fan for the 2003 Honda???

By the way: folks do add aftermarket fans to their vehicles, I'm not sure why a mechanic or you couldn't add a complete new fan and control to your Honda.

Re: 1988 Mazda B2200 Evaporator

Those aluminum evaporator cores are just fine. I would definitely not tear apart a working system to swap out one of those. My own practice, with more than AC: "Never trouble trouble until trouble troubles you" I tell folks that if their AC and heat keep you comfortable, then there is no ...

1988 Mazda B2200 Evaporator

In August 2002, I developed a pinhole in the center of the evaporator on my 1988 Mazda B2200, confirmed that with soap bubbles. With 2 kids and money tighter back then, I bought a new serpentine-type copper and brass evaporator, drove to Arizona Mobile Air on W. Clarendon as it was in-stock and less...

I think you made the logical choice.

For that area, you can test for leaks with soap bubbles.
