Re: System pressures while filling

Disclaimer - I know a bit, but I am NOT an AC expert. I have to ask: did you read those pressures WHILE the low pressure side refrigerant valve was open to the refrigerant container? Because if so, I never pay any attention to readings unless the low pressure line is closed to the refrigerant source...

When I read the original post this morning, I also was thinking fan clutch. Just last month I replaced the fan clutch in my 1988 Mazda truck - again. These seem to last about 6 years here in Phoenix.

I'd get brand new compressor if available. Try board sponsor, ackits.com

Re: On TXV systems does compressor cycle ? Intended function of high pressure switch

On my 1988 Mazda truck, and my 1998 and 2004 Nissan Frontiers - all which have expansion valve systems - the de-icer switch on the evaporator case (which has a sensor in the evaporator fins) makes their compressors cycle.

Re: Should I Replace Condenser

I replaced compressor only on our 2005 Yukon as the compressor did not seize.

I replaced compressor, condenser, drier and flushed the lines when the compressor in my 2004 Frontier seized. So depends on the individual situation.

Re: 2010 aveo flush issue?

purged gauge lines and the orange smelling flush came out of gauges. Sounds like you didn't remove all the flush solvent. Is there a way to get moisture out of condenser and drier and compressor? Moisture should get boiled out of condenser and compressor by sufficient vacuum/duration. But drier pel...

Re: Youtube AC repair procedure - Right or Wrong?

As to YouTube help: some stuff there is OK, some is not. One has to evaluate based on credibility, and what others post. This is a 100% true recent example: Scotty Kilmer had some video of cleaning a catalytic converter with lacquer thinner. My brother in law thought this was a good idea, and Mrs. C...

Re: Youtube AC repair procedure - Right or Wrong?

Disclaimer: I'm NOT a certified AC tech, and do not consider myself an expert. First, here is the link to the discussed video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIiKPm3f75k My own opinion is that proper evacuation removes air from the system (about 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen) which takes up volume in...

Do you mean "evaporator", like under the dash?
