Check your refrigerant charge by having it extracted and weighed and compared to factory labeled amount for your system. That is always the first diagnostic step. You cannot determine refrigerant amount by pressures. There may be trouble trying to find the listing for oz. refrigerant with an add-on...

I have R-12 too, and one truck that still uses that.

If your system is low on refrigerant, then you have a leak, which must be fixed. Don't go adding those miracle sealers in a can, you'll ruin the system.

You don't sound that experienced, take it to a pro.

OK. Then I'd add a few more ounces of refrigeration oil. I'm not a pro, but guidelines are typically a couple of ounces for an evaporator or condenser and one for an accumulator, so in your case maybe add 6 additional ounces.

This morning I had the system evacuated and weighed, and re-charged to factory spec. I cant remember off the top of my head, but I think it was like 2.7lbs. Cooling has not changed. At idle, it blows warm air, but when I'm driving, it blows cold. Did this shop that find the refrigerant was not at 2...
