Re: POA Valve Doesn't "pop"
Most accounts I have read for bench testing POA valves describe a "pop" that should be audible as the input pressure is slowly increased. Neither of these valves "pop", although there is a slight wobble in the gauge needle as the low side pressure reaches 30lbs. I'm running 60lb...

Re: Hyundai Excavator A/C Woes
How much oil, which type, and what viscosity did you install, and where and how did you add it? I don't have the specs for this machine, either, but it seems to me that around 8 ounces in total (236.6 milliliters) would be about right.

Re: Hyundai Excavator A/C Woes
This is a rather lengthy and detailed post. So to make for easier reading and diagnosing for those of us in the USA, I converted Grams, Kilopascals, and Celsius to Ounces (net weight), PSIG (gauge pressure), and Fahrenheit, highlighting all of the latter in this color . Good evening all, ... The Com...

Re: 10mm switch port o-ring size?
Hard to say what the exact size is. I keep a "problem solver" assortment of o-rings on hand for such a purpose, and try a few until I find one that appears to have the right diameter and thickness. O-ring assortments are readily available, often packaged in a compartmented, clear plastic b...

Re: 1995 Buick Lesabre
I wanted to leave some residual pressure in the system, in the hopes of not needing to vacuum it down. If I replace that Schrader valve that will empty the system. I’m guessing this will be the last fan switch this car ever sees, so thinking of just installing new switch and let it be. Good idea. I...

Re: 1995 Buick Lesabre
Ok. Went to pull the high side fan pressure switch. Unscrewed it about 4 turns and it started hissing. Waited a moment and it started hissing heavier and would not stop, so screwed it back down. Sealed up. Is there a Schrader valve under there? The mounting flange doesn’t look very deep. I would be...

Re: 1986 Volvo how much R134a into an R12 system?
Generally speaking, a conversion from R-12 to R-134a usually takes approximately 75 to 85-percent of the original R-12 charge, which according to the under-hood decal on this car is 46.4 ounces net weight. Start at 75-percent of the original charge, or about 35 ounces, and slowly work your way up, a...

Re: Another Ford Ranger AC Issue
Also where I currently reside, only Genuine Fan clutch assemblies are available (fan blade & clutch) & they'll set you back $1200. The viscous fan couplings have been available from time to time but they aren't too good quality wise. Oh, my :o A price of $1,200 would give me pause as well. ...

Re: 1995 Buick Lesabre
Had a cooling fan issue (fans on high all the time) and the scanner live data showed a AC PRESSURE - HIGH. (Key in, engine off, AC not run). After several days of having the fuse for the fans pulled I took the car to a mechanic with a GM TECH2 scanner. Put the fuse in and fans operated normally. Bu...

Re: Another Ford Ranger AC Issue
IMHO, car manufacturers sometimes get carried away with their testing procedures and expensive tools. Unless you're curious, I don't think I would spend the time and money diagnosing a component that frequently wears out, that can be replaced in half an hour or less in many instances, and that can b...
