Purging With Nitrogen ???

Post by philipswanson »

Is it a good idea to purge my A/C system with nitrogen before charging to remove moisture? The lines were flushed and left open a month ago. RV is garaged here in SoCa. New compressor and components were professionally flushed before installation.

The ac shops here in my place always purge the system with nitrogen before vacuuming the system to charge. The reason, i dont know. But i know that vacuuming the system is what removes the moisture.

Excellent idea to flush with dry N2. This makes for a better vacuum process.

I think the reason for nitrogen purge is simple. To eliminate moisture from the system which is destructive.
