70's GM POA Valve Seepage

Post by crustysarge »

Hello,

1st post for new member. I am retired USAF and live in NE Italy. I am working on my 70 Lemans Sport and have a question about the POA valve. I have it on the bench and am testing it. When I apply air pressure I can hear a very very slight amount of air coming through, like at 10 PSI. Then as I increase the valve actually opens at 30 PSI. Is it normal to have a very, very small amount of flow before reaching the opening pressure?

While I am not an expert I agree with you. I had already thought it made sense to have a very small amount of flow vs dead heading. Unless I see otherwise I am going to use it as I have managed to set it right on the money at 26 PSI for running 134.
