My comment was to mention the order did not go through if ordered through ACkits. Security checks, foreign country, along with other reasons.

It's alright. Many help with the questions for free also. But supporting the site that has supported you helps the next guy in line.

i'll confess i ordered from a different site to try and save a buck
i didnt take in to account that buck supports the forum and the product is packaged better to ensure safe delivery
i canceled my order and Im ready to order again through Tim

i was thinking about changing to the R134A ALUMINUM GAUGE SET - 4 WAY - W/ HOSES, COUPLERS
however what exactly is a gauge set with 4 way is this harder to operate what are the advantages

I do have a ball valve on the way so i should be good with a regular gauge set
Note that this is done only after evacuating a system and charging it. If you're connecting a Manifold Gauge Set (MGS) to test the pressures alone, there will be some air and moisture in the hoses, which you don't want to draw into the system for obvious reasons.
i was curious if you could pull a vacuum on the gagues and hoses before you connect them to the ports
i know more freon would flow in them when opened them but you could bleed this back in at the end
assuming you have a ball valve for the yello hose

Either set will work. I would bet 95% of shops use the 3-way set.. 4 way just removes having to swap the yellow line between vacuum and charging.

Agreed , and the "next guy in line" might just be the same guy coming back in 6-12 months for more help

Need pix.
Usually the tank has 1/2" acme, and there is an adapter available to reduce to 1/4" flare. I do not know what size your hoses are.
A good vac pump will have both sizes on the pump body
