Most quality vacuum pumps have both R12 & R134a ports to attach your hose. As for your tank, did you buy it for industrial use. They might have a different fitting.

Similar to this tee.

ok it does fit on the freon tank but not the vacuum pump

no the hose is at the top of the fitting
the white plastic thing that holds the cap is where it threads to

I'm lost!

That tee is R12 and R134a. Your hose is attached to one or the other depending on your gauges.
