Try the automotive stores.
Truth is, as you know, everyone is getting out of the 134 business, thanks to the EPA. EPA won't even let ppl sell refrigerant on eBay any more! These are stocks that were produced legally! Stock up when you can and be careful of how you vote! You need an administration that is pro-business, not anti-business.

Walmart historically has had poor inventory control.

Stay away from R134a that contains leak sealer of any kind.

Facebook Marketplace. Ebay won't allow refrigerant sales anymore.

I don't think Walmart is getting out of the refrigerant business of selling the small cans. But with R-1234yf currently selling for about six times that of R-134a (per pound), it looks like the market for the newer refrigerant is going to be much smaller among DIY-ers. To buy any refrigerant in bulk, buyers will now need to be EPA Section 609 certified as well.

I happened to be in the Walmart Supercenter in my area today and checked whether they had refrigerant...ANY refrigerant...and they didn't. There's plenty available online—both R-134a and R-1234yf—that can be delivered to my local store for pick-up. However, some of it is sourced from offshore and is of questionable purity, at least in my mind. The prices are shockingly high, as expected, and most of it contains sealer, including the well-known "death kits" that they carry.

Caveat emptor.

Sam's Club has cases of 12 cans of Johnsen's brand for $100. Not a super fantastic deal, but pretty much buy 10 get 2 free at Walmart prices for Supertech.
