Re: Low side normal /high side low stumped

By fans you mean the fan on the engine yes it’s pulling plenty of air as well as the cabin blower motors . And I did charge it with both front and rear on max settings the blend door is working and so is recirculate Yes, the fan(s) on the engine. So all of that sounds good. The low-side pressure yo...

Re: Low side normal /high side low stumped

I don't remember anymore, but did you check the fans? Are they going on and off? Also, did you charge it with both the front and rear A/C turned on?

Re: Low side normal /high side low stumped

"I put all the new parts on" John, what does this mean? That he changed out the evap and condenser as well? If that original comp grenaded then as you know he has more problems yet. I had trouble following his writeup especially when he said his hi is supposed to be 350 I took the comment...

Re: Low side normal /high side low stumped

As mentioned previously, I think we need more information to diagnose this. To review, you replaced the entire A/C system after it was left open for more than a year without a compressor on it...a good idea IMHO. You mentioned that you "oiled" it, vacuumed it, checked for leaks, and charge...

Re: Valve cores

You have a couple of options in replacing the Schrader valves: Either have the charge recovered, which will allow removal with zero pressure in the system; or use a set of valve-core tools that allow removal while the system is still under pressure. Either way, when you get them out, you can then ma...

Re: 2016 Ram line sizing issues (#4 size?)

I reread your post several times, and I think I now know what you're trying to do. Since you're going to need new custom hoses anyway in order to reach the bed-mounted condenser, why not cut-off (from the existing hose in the engine bay) the TXV-side fitting and reinstall it on the new hose? That'll...

Re: Low side with extreme high pressure

This sounds to me like an overcharge condition. The specs for your vehicle call for 18 ounces (1.1 pounds) of R-134a and 3.4 ounces of PAG-46. With the charge amount being so small, it's pretty easy to overcharge a system like this. If you're using the individual 12-ounce cans of refrigerant and not...

Re: Compressor,TXV, or Scroll valve

The compressor on your vehicle is known for two issues: The control valve (sometimes called a "scroll valve") malfunctioning, and leakage of refrigerant/oil at the mating point of the two case halves. If you can get under there with a strong light to take a look at the bottom of the compre...

Re: 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan AC issue driving me nuts.

Your specs are way off. The tag on the vehicle are something like 1.6 pounds for single, 2.6 for double. That's off memory so it's not exact. Your memory was pretty close to the actual: 6 cyl. 3.6L eng., without rear A/C -- 29 ounces (1.8 pounds) of R-134a and 4.0 ounces of PAG-46. Same engine, wit...

Re: 2012 Dodge Caravan AC issue driving me nuts.

From the video, it sounds like the engine is at idle speed. If so, try bumping it up to a steady 1,800 RPM, blower on medium, A/C on "Max," windows open. That should also help with getting the rest of the charge in. Then see what the pressures do. Double-check the fans, which at that point...
