Greetings y’all,
It’s been a while since I’ve chimed in to this wonderful forum which has helped me SO MUCH in the past!
I have a burning question that maybe someone can help me with. I had done a Sanden 508 compressor install in my ‘72 Chevy pickup with the utilizing the original POA system (recalibrated to 134A pressure) and with a “piccolo” style condenser. When I set up this system I had a local shop make my suction line hoses and they used a #10 standard barrier hose from the POA horseshoe to the compressor. (#8 for the hi-side) The 180 “horseshoe” fitting has sprung a leak(welded) and I need to swap it out. I can get all #12 hose fittings now and, my question is, would it behoove me to go back to the original 5/8” hose or is the 1/2” sufficient?
The system did work good prior but I was wondering if there is any negligible improvement in going bank to original?
Thanx!
Bud
Suction line size
Re: Suction line size
Sorry for the late response. If you can build a #12 suction line. That would be best overall. In many cases, they use a #10 due to the availability of fittings.
