1993 GMC high side service port
1993 GMC high side service port
Have a 1993 GMC C1500 the high side service port is the "deep" one with rubber ball and it's leaking. Looking for a replacement one preferably with a regular schrader valve but can't find anywhere. (truck is R12 and staying R12)

Re: 1993 GMC high side service port
I actually did a retrofit on a 1993 Suburban not long ago.
UAC VC2902C kit has that service valve with a schrader valve. I use the Dorman equivalent on the R134a era GMs. That junk rubber ball design was never good. Honestly that era GM cools so well on R134a I do not see wasting $$$ R12 on it but that is just me. I would install a V5 or V7 compressor, a parallel flow condenser and the 11" 99 Tahoe pusher fan in it even if I stayed R12. At that point it does not matter if it has R134a, it will be ice cold. The R4s never had good service life here in Texas even when they were R12.
